But probably, many of you may not know that Dubai was a small fishing town in the last century, but with the discovery of oil by the UAE (Dubai is one of the 7 Emirates), Dubai has become an elegant place and luxury city.
Dubai is a promising city and is quite safe for travelers as the crime rate is very low. There are many things to do in Dubai, to taste and shop. Had a great time! So I recommend it!
In this article, I will discuss some things you need to know before preparing holidays to Dubai… Especially if you are traveling for the first time to the Middle East or in general. For the best travel experience, hire a car from any professional and reliable company to enjoy your trip your way, as driving in Dubai (and the UAE) is very easy.
How to travel to Dubai?
If you are from any Middle Eastern country like Oman or Saudi Arabia, you can even enter Dubai by road. But people from other countries need to book their flights to Dubai or Abu Dhabi, the main airline hubs of the UAE and Etihad. If you are planning to visit Dubai for some specific reason, the best option is to book a flight to Dubai or you can land in any other emirate if you are planning to visit other cities in the UAE as well. You can consult the official website of famous airlines in your country to find out how to make ticket prices and procedures.
When is the best time to visit Dubai?
The answer is in winter! Many of you may know that Middle Eastern countries are quite hot from April to mid-September. So, if you have a choice, try to visit Dubai between November and February. These are the best months for tourists, but you can expect crowded areas, especially around Christmas time.
Tourists from different parts of the world love to visit Dubai at the end of December and celebrate the new year. Make sure you book everything like flights, hotels, restaurants, places to go, and your rental car in advance.
What to wear in Dubai?
Many people from western countries have the myth that Dubai is quite a conservative city as the UAE is a Muslim country. But in reality, this is the opposite, Dubai can be quite a liberal country compared to the rest of the region. Even so, I suggest you wear long-sleeved clothing and pants, especially for women. That’s because it’s always good to respect the culture and tradition of the place you visit. Although, it is not uncommon to see girls wearing shorts or even bikinis on the beaches of Dubai.
The suitcase of clothes depends on the months in which you travel. If you are traveling in the summer, bring t-shirts and light pants, or men can bring shorts as well. But the winters are quite cold, so you should pack some warm clothes along with a cap and gloves to keep warm on the cold winter desert nights. What about other important things? We will discuss this in the next post!
